Booster Club Meeting Minutes 11-18-2009

Present: David Luttrell, Suzanna Ammenheuser, Jim Ammenheuser, Mike Jones, Linda Disney, Susan Lisheron, Tom Fields, Noel Gonsalvez, Terrie Marquette, Hall, Linda Tesluk, Marisela Delgado, Maria Stuart, Michelle Orlando, Monica Warner, Alfred Reyes, Moira Cornyn, Mary Henderson, Trish Broz, Randy Steinle

Meeting was called to order by President David Luttrell at 7:11 p.m.
Minutes from the October meeting were reviewed and were approved by the membership, with the correction of Marisela’s name under scholarship report.
Treasurer’s report – One scholarship has still not been paid. A motion was made and approved by membership to accept the treasurer’s report.
Coach’s Comments - Coach was not able to attend due to football practice. Tryouts are November 30- December 4, on field behind tennis courts, after school until dark. Players should have all proper equipment as well as running shoes and soccer shoes. Rosters will be posted outside Pine 1 on Friday morning. Uniforms will be passed out on Dec 10th; players will be required to bring a refundable $50 deposit that will be returned when the complete kit is turned in at the end of the season. ON Friday, Dec. 11th the boys will help line the fields for the following day’s 3v3 tournament. There will be a preseason scrimmage for all teams on Saturday January 2 with Dripping Springs. Preseason tournaments this season will be the Hays tournament on January 7,8,9 for Varsity. They will also play in the Governors Cup in Georgetown. The JV A & B teams will play in the Leader/Cedar Park tournament. Coach has also scheduled a 3 way scrimmage with Georgetown, New Braunfels and Canyon. JVB will play 1/21-1/23. The 3v3 fields have been reserved at the school for the 3v3 tournament.
Old Business – 3v3 tournament: December 12th. The cost will be $50 per team with a max. of 5 players per team. We will register up to 32 teams. Each team plays at least three 12 minute games and then there will be semis and a final game. We will accept high school students only. We will use Varsity and JV players as referees, this will help fill volunteer hours for them. Teams will be restricted to 2 high school/select players per team. Noel may change price to $10 per player so teams that want just 3 players don’t think it is cost prohibitive. Noel is thinking about Tshirts for prizes, but we questioned the ability to know what sizes the winners want. Gift Cards were discussed as an option. Concessions – Nothing new to report. Scholarships Applications – Maria and Kris will work to add volunteer hours to the application form. We discussed requiring 5 hours of soccer related volunteer work each school year, for a total of 20 hours by senior year. Concerns were expressed regarding keeping track of the hours and verifying them four years after the fact. Monica Warner volunteered to help Kris and Marisela come up with a plan by the December Meeting. If anyone has ideas or thoughts please email to Maria or Kris. Pizza Party – Scheduled for December 10 in the cafeteria. Seniors will introduce new members and we will show last year’s DVD. Calendar – We are looking for sponsors ($75 each and includes a spot on our website) for calendar, which will not be sold, but given away/posted. We will take photos of teams IN UNIFORM in January and get the calendar out as quickly as possible after that.
New Business – Homecoming - We will plan on going to Fuddrucker’s after the game, as usual. Senior Night – Friday, March 12th, which is the night Spring Break starts. Could be a problem since vacationers may have left town.
