Booster Club Meeting Minutes 11-3-2010

1. At 7:00 Susan Lisheron called the meeting to order. There were 11 people in attendance (Susan Lisheron, Brenda Schmitt, Mike Orlando, Kevin Tomaser (sp?), Maria Paredes, Michelle Orlando, Linda Gibeaut, Dolly Prince, Julie Loera, and Mary Henderson)
2. Treasurer's Report was given by Maria Paredes. As of Nov. 3rd, we are over budget $292.60 and have a net income of: -56.73.
3. Minutes from Oct. 3rd, 2010 were approved.
4. Old Business was covered:
   
1. There are currently 6 members as of November 3rd and 3 more joined at the meeting, bringing the total to 9.
2. Susan Lisheron read an email from Coach Miller regarding try-outs. In summary, this will be the last year that varsity players will not have to try out again. Starting next year forward, all players must try out every year. There will be 3 teams this year after all. Coach Miller will coach the Varsity, Coach Pitman will coach the JVA and a new coach will coach the JVB team.
   
3. Trish Broz and Lisa Munden will be sorting the uniforms at the school in the shed on Friday November 5th starting at 1:00 and could use all help they can get. Contact Trish if you can help out.
   
4. Fall fundraisers were discussed. Susan Lisheron reported on the hats she had seen at Anderson High games. They were homemade, so she checked into other sources. It was estimated that each hat would cost between $9-10, so they would be sold for $15.00 for a profit. After further discussion, it was decided that it was possibly not a good fund raiser as there is not such a demand. Julie Loera suggested that we sell bags of coffee. She has a contact and will check into it. Her understanding is you sell the bag for $10.00 and we keep $5.00 as the fund raiser. Everyone liked the idea and will wait for her to get further information.
   
5. It was decided that yard signs at $20.00 each would not sell well, so that idea was dropped.
   
6. We then talked about the Needs for Parent Volunteers. Michelle Orlando and Kris Bloomfield volunteered to do the Pizza Party on Dec. 9th. There were not any volunteers to do the video recording and editing. Michelle Orlando, Mary Henderson and Dolly Prince volunteered to head up the scholarship committee.
5. 5. New Business:
   
1. Tryouts will be held the week after Thanksgiving. They will start on Nov. 29th and run through Dec. 2nd after school each day.
   
2. Susan Lisheron asked that when heading up an event or Job that you make a list of the things that you do so it can be passed onto all those that will follow in volunteer positions with the Booster Club. You can email it to Susan Lisheron and she will put it in a folder/binder to keep it together.
6. 6. The date of the next meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010
7. 7. At 8:00pm, Susan Lisheron made a motion to adjourn the meeting and it was brought to a close.
