Booster Club Meeting Minutes 1-5-2011

  1. Opening: Susan Lisheron opened the meeting at 7:00pm. There were 13 people in attendance (Susan Lisheron, Brenda Schmitt, Coach Sam Miller, Michael Orlando, Ken Reed, Mary Henderson, Julie and Ernie Loera, Maria Paredes Stuart, Roberto and Marisela Delgato, Trish Broz and Kris Bloomfield).
  2. Coach Miller: He talked about the season getting off to a start for Varsity the night before. He talked about the details of the up-coming pre-season tournaments and transportation. For all Saturday games, the players are responsible to get themselves to the games. There will be no busing on Saturdays. For the tournaments on Jan 13-15 there will be different transportation situations.
Brenda Schmitt volunteered to embroider the numbers on the bags at the end of the season.
  3. Treasurer's report: Maria Paredes Stuart
    • We have $1,658 cash.
    • The coffee and labeling cost $1,025.
    • We have collected the money for 4 ad's, we have two possible a leads on ads, so we still need to sale 4 more.
    • We need to get one last push for T-Shirts and Hoodies so that Maria can place the order ASAP.
  4. Old Business:
    1. Booster Club Membership: The current membership totals are as follows: Varsity – 9 members ($310), JVA - 6 members ($220) JVB – 8 members ($300) Roberto is going to start calling/emailing parents to encourage them to join the Booster club.
    2. Julie Loera reported on the coffee sells. There are still many of the players that did not sell their 5 bags, or turn in their $25.00. Julie is going to send out some form of a reminder to all players. The coffee will continue to be available on line even after the initial bags have been sold.
    3. Sam's Club has agreed to let us sell the coffee bags in front of their store in February. It was suggested that players who have not sold their bags could possibly take shifts to help sell. Susan Lisheron has the dates and times that the coffee can be sold.
  5. New Business:
    1. Maria Paredes Stuart is resigning as the Treasurer as her son will not be playing this year. Julie Loera has volunteered to become the new Treasurer. A motion was made to approve Julie as the treasurer all in attendance voted supported the motion.
    2. Volunteers Needs:
      1. Now that Julie is the new Treasurer, a volunteer is needed to head up the coffee sales. No one volunteered for it, so we will continue to look for some one.
      2. A Volunteer is needed to head up the coordination of selling the coffee at Sam's club, no one volunteered for this.
    3. Yahoo Group: Susan Lisheron suggested that we take the sign-up sheets that were filled out at try-outs for each of the players that made the team and add them and their parents to the Yahoo Group email listing so that we can get information out to them and better communicate all up coming events. Everyone agreed that was a good idea, so Susan is going to add the names ans emails.
    4. Susan Lisheron suggested that we have “Senior Night” on Friday, March 11th as that is the last home game to be played at Burger Stadium. It was agreed that would probably be the date unless a better date was found. It was also discussed that following the game, the players go to dinner some place. In the past it has been Fudruckers, but other suggestions were made such as Mighty Fine Burgers, Jersey Mike's and Torchy's Tacos. Nothing was decided as to exactly where to go.
    5. Soccer Video: Trish Broz has volunteered to Video the Varsity games and put together the Senior Video (with some help from her friends). Ken Reed has volunteered to video the JV games, but we are still in need of a volunteer to video the JVB games. Susan Lisheron has a contact person with the JVB team and she will have them check to see if they can find anyone to video the games.
  6. Closing: The meeting was brought to a close at 8:00pm by Susan Lisheron.
