Booster Club Meeting Minutes 1-21-09

Present: David Luttrell, Terrie Marquette, David Colbert, Maria Paredes, Susan Lisheron, Mike Jones, Suzanna Ammenheuser, Coach Miller, Trish Lopez-Broz, Lisa Fields, Kris Bloomfield, Marisela Delgado

I. Meeting called to order at 7p.m. by David Luttrell

II. Minutes from last meeting distributed and approved

III. Treasurer’s Report: Balance shows $4,769.08. Coach Miller reports he transferred $1,000.00 out to pay for uniforms. All scholarships have been paid. $482.50 was paid to Austin Embroidery for shirts.

IV. Old Business

Membership update: Susan Lisheron reports there are 26 paid booster club members, 17 from varsity, 4 from jva and 5 from jvb. David asks for a parent volunteer from each team talk to parents from their team to encourage membership. We will have membership forms at the games. Kris Bloomfield will talk to jva team parents.
B. Fundraiser: There are still calendars available to sell and money to collect.
C. Concessions: Lisa Fields reports that Willy O’s has closed so we will not be able to use them. We can still get pepperoni rolls from Double Dave’s for $8/dozen. Lisa is willing to buy the hot food if parents will donate money towards it.

V. New Business

The district is requiring all home teams to supply 2 ball boys for varsity games.
Akins game 2-7-09: There will be some players missing due to tournaments for both teams. Coach requested a change for varsity game to be on Friday 2-6 at 8 pm after the varsity girls game and the jv games on Saturday
Suzanna is requesting that seniors pictures for the end of year video be sent in by 3-1-09. She will send emails to senior families.
Homecoming game is Feb. 20 against Westlake. Teams are invited to meet at Fuddruckers after varsity game to eat. Senior night is 3-11-09 the last home game
Spring fundraiser: The coach has cookie dough to sell from 1-26 through 2-9. For the booster club we discussed Mike Jones numbers for a fish fry and numbers from previous car washes. Motion was passed to do the car wash at this time because there is not much time to put the fish fry together and get donations for a silent auction. David will check on the dates and with the Goodwill location.
Banquet: Will be Thursday, April 16 at Creekside Pavillion. David will call to schedule.
Other: We are out of the medium and XL shirts and need to order some more.
AISD is no longer allowing teams to play music over loud speakers during warm ups.
Coach will contact John Silvey about team pictures.

VI. Date of next meeting: February 18, 2009. The March meeting will need to be changed to March 25th due to spring break. Terrie will confirm.
